Today, Pakistan’s Prime Minister Mr. Nawaz Sharif telephoned Shri Narendra Modi and congratulated him on his resounding victory in the General Elections. He said that he followed the General Election closely. He invited Mr. Modi to visit Pakistan in future.
Mr. Modi said that during the campaign, he emphasized the need for India and Pakistan to fight against poverty.

Mr. Mahinda Rajapaksa, President of Sri Lanka also called Shri Modi and congratulated him for such a great victory. He expressed hope that India and Sri Lanka will work closely and further strengthen their strong ties.

Prime Minister of Israel Mr. Benjamin Netanyahu also called Mr. Narendra Modi and congratulated him on his victory in the General Election. He said that he is looking forward to work with Mr. Modi and enhance bilateral cooperation.

Australian Prime Minister Mr. Tony Abbot called up and congratulated Mr. Modi. He expressed the hope that Australia and India will work closely to further strengthen the bilateral relationship. He said that he is looking forward to meet Mr. Modi during the upcoming G–20 summit to be held in Australia.

Mr. David Cameron, Prime Minister, UK congratulated Mr. Modi on his emphatic electoral victory. He extended the invitation to visit UK on his way to the BRICS summit to be held in August, 2014 in Brazil. He said that he is looking forward to meet Mr. Modi at an early date.
