In Conversation With Manoj Ladwa, Founder and CEO, India Global Forum.

India Global Forum UAE 2022 Women in Leadership Forum began with Laura Buckwell quoting Michelle Obama:  “No country can ever truly flourish if it stifles the progress of its women and deprives itself of the contribution of half of its citizens.”
She went on to site significant data points highlighting the economic and social gap between men and women globally.
Professor Manoj Ladwa, Founder and Chairman of India Global Forum, began his welcome address with a few significant highlights from IGF UAE 2022. He spoke about the importance of the exchange of ideas, thoughts and opinions that took place at the forum. He also laid emphasis on the growth and development that India has achieved over the years and the value of creating a platform for India to express itself as a nation, to build important partnerships that would benefit communities and nations globally.
He further talked about the importance of creating an ecosystem which promotes the growth of infrastructure that would facilitate greater participation of women in formal education, further cementing their growth economically and financially.

Asked to reflect upon his own inspirations, he pointed to the work that India has done under the leadership of Prime Minister Modi around women’s empowerment as “phenomenal”.
“If I brought it down to what has been the really big gamechanger, which has inspired me a lot, is when the Prime Minister of India, newly-elected, on the 15th of August 2014 goes on the ramparts of Red Fort and the cornerstone of his speech was toilets and sanitisation… it was all about empowering young women,” Professor Ladwa shared.
He concluded with the statement: “My goal for this forum is that I don’t want the Women in Leadership Forum to exist in the next few years, I want us to reach a point where there is no need for it.”
