The introduction of caste legislation in the UK during the last parliament has been a hugely divisive issue.
Bob Blackman has started a campaign to repeal it. Labour’s Keith Vaz and some other MPs are supporting. I accept their argument that English case is now sufficiently established in protecting people against discrimination on the basis of their caste.
Therefore, what I am failing to understand is why there is a need to now start a campaign and lobby ministers?
Was it not a manifesto pledge/assurance by the Conservative Party at the last election which now has an absolute parliamentary majority that once it came to power it would rid the statute books of this legislation?
The LibDems are not in government and Labour is nowhere on the radar. So who is now to blame?
