Ed Miliband, leader of the Labour Party celebrated Navratri yesterday evening at three community events in Harrow. He was given a rapturous welcome wherever he went. Ed is the first leader of any major political party in the UK to attend Navratri. He said it was a proud moment for him to be celebrating the festival and the contribution of the British Hindu community to all walks of life in the UK.
We were joined by Keith Vaz MP, Barry Gardiner MP, Steve Pound MP,Virendra Sharma Gareth Thomas MP and Uma Kumaran – the first Hindu women to be standing in Harrow.
