The Madhvani family left Indian shores to build a better life around the turn of the last century and eventually they built a vast business empire in East Africa.
Like so many, they were thrown out by the oppressive dictator Idi Amin and in the last few years have rebuilt their fortunes in their adopted homeland. However testimony to India’s growing attraction that many Indian origin families like the Madhavanis are going full circle and coming back to their roots in a much more determined manner than ever before.
