I participated in a Bloomberg TV panel discussion yesterday on the Indian Budget.
My observations included that I believe that people would regard the first full Narendra Modi budget as pressing all the right buttons. That it put in a framework that emphasises “stability, consistency, transparency, and sustainable growth” in the future management of the Indian economy.
On the question of foreign investors, I said the budget would give confidence after a “lost decade” under the previous government.
I joked with Mr Rahul Bajaj that he had given the budget “only” 9/10!
