An excellent roundtable meeting with Hon Sushma Swaraj MP, Indian Foreign Minister this afternoon in London with a select group of representatives from the British Indian community.
Several key concerns were discussed including streamlining further Indian consular services, reducing the cost of visas, and the political engagement of the Indian community in the UK.
Very receptive and a “go getter” attitude. Great to see such an upbeat message being conveyed for UK-Indian relations by Sushma ji.
With the extremely hard working Mayuri Parmar of Conservative Friends of India and of course formerly National Hindu Students Forum.
We need Mayuris’ in the Labour Party also! A great role model.
